Tessen vs QuantPilot

They optimize until it looks good.
We test whether it's real.

QuantPilot (by 3Commas) and Tessen make the same promise on the surface: describe a trading strategy in plain English, get it built, backtested, and deployed. The difference is everything that happens between the backtest and your money — and it's a difference you can verify, not a marketing claim.

The one question to ask any AI trading platform

"When your agents finish optimizing my strategy, what stops an overfit backtest from trading my real money?" On Tessen the answer is five hard gates — positive out-of-sample expectancy, a fee hurdle, cross-asset robustness, survivable drawdown, and an overfitting check — enforced server-side, with every grade publicly verifiable. We graded our own live strategy first and published the result. If a platform's answer is a backtest chart, that chart is the sales brochure, not the evidence.

Validation methodologyPublished and mandatory: 6 years of data, train/out-of-sample split, fees modeled, five hard gates, and a public tamper-proof verify link for every grade. The methodology is documented in our docs. Not disclosed in its public launch materials as of July 2026 — no published out-of-sample policy, fee model, or overfitting protection. Strategies are backtested, but how results are validated is not stated.
What “AI optimization” meansRetune proposals must pass all five gates AND beat the deployed baseline out-of-sample by a real margin. Each generation is counted, and “no better variant found” is reported honestly.“User-directed or autonomous optimization cycles” that iterate on strategy performance. Iterating on the same history until the backtest improves is, structurally, how overfitting happens — unless a hard out-of-sample gate stops it, and none is documented.
What gates real-money deploymentAn agent that fails any gate cannot be deployed live at any price — enforced server-side, not in the UI. Drift detection then compares live results to the grade's promise, forever.“Export and deploy” live-ready strategies to Hyperliquid. No published validation requirement stands between an optimized backtest and live capital.
Community competitionsEvery public grade is ranked by what survives: gates passed and forward performance. Most strategies fail, and we publish that.QuantPilot Arena ranks competitors by backtest results — a leaderboard that structurally rewards whoever fits history hardest, which is the opposite of an edge.
PricingBuilding, grading, and paper trading are free. Live deployment via a prepaid pass from $49 — no card on file, no auto-renew.Free early-access waitlist; a $5,000 lifetime VIP badge for immediate access. Full pricing “being finalized” as of July 2026.
Exchange keys & custodyNon-custodial by construction: the key vault rejects any API key with withdrawal permission. Keys are encrypted at rest and scoped trade-only.Also non-custodial via exchange APIs. Worth knowing the history: parent company 3Commas suffered a widely reported API-key data breach in 2022. Evaluate key hygiene accordingly on any platform, including ours.
Research & data breadthLumen market intelligence built on our own cross-venue data engine (funding, open interest, crowd divergence, order-book imbalance across 7 exchanges) — collected raw by us, not resold.Genuinely broad: research agents over CoinMarketCap, DefiLlama, CryptoQuant and news APIs. More third-party data sources than Tessen today — credit where due.
Maturity & backingIndependent, closed beta, young — and honest about it. Six exchanges supported for live trading.Built by 3Commas, an established bot platform with a large existing user base. Full launch June 2026.

Where QuantPilot is genuinely strong

An honest comparison cuts both ways. QuantPilot has more third-party research integrations than we do today, a polished Hyperliquid execution terminal, and the distribution of an established company behind it. If what you want is a broad AI research workbench with a manual trading desk attached, it may fit. If what you want is to know — before real money moves — whether a strategy actually holds up out-of-sample, that question needs published methodology and verifiable results, and that is the product we build.

And a prediction we're happy to be held to: when backtest-ranked competition results are published anywhere, we'll grade the winners out-of-sample with public verify links — whatever the outcome. That's the standard we apply to our own strategies too.
