Privacy Policy
What Tessen stores, who processes it, how long it is kept, and how to see, export or delete it.
This describes what Tessen actually does with your data today. It is written from the behaviour of the running system rather than from a template, and where something is not yet true it says so.
If you are signed out
You can use the conversation without an account. Signed out, nothing you type is written down: the exchange is not stored, not associated with you, and is gone when the tab closes. Tessen keeps a short-lived count of requests per network address to stop one visitor exhausting the free allowance, held in memory only and not linked to anything about you.
If you have an account
Signing in today is by email and password, handled by Tessen's own account system. Google sign-in is built into the product and may become available as an additional option; when it is, Tessen receives your email address, name and account identifier from Google, and never receives or stores your Google password.
With an account, Tessen stores your conversations, anything it has remembered about you, the projects and sites you create, your API keys as one-way hashes, and a record of usage so spending can be measured and capped.
Who else processes your data
Model providers. To answer you, the text of your message is sent to an AI model provider through Tessen's own gateway. Tessen currently routes to OpenRouter, with Cloudflare Workers AI as a fallback. They process the message to produce a reply.
Infrastructure. Tessen runs on Microsoft Azure, behind Cloudflare, with data stored in a managed PostgreSQL database. Transactional email is sent through Resend.
Tessen does not sell your data, does not share it with advertisers, and runs no advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
How long it is kept
Your conversations, memories and projects are kept until you delete them or close your account. Operational request logs are removed after 90 days. Some short-lived internal records are swept after 30 days.
What you can do
See everything Tessen remembers about you, and delete any of it, in Settings under Memory.
Export all of your data at any time. Portability is not behind a paid plan.
Delete your account and its data. Deletion removes the data rather than flagging it as hidden.
Withdraw a consent you have granted, and disconnect any service you have connected.

Tessen is an early-stage product operated from Mauritius and serving users internationally. This notice will be reviewed by counsel before general availability, and material changes will be announced here with a revised date rather than applied silently.
