Terms of Service
1. What Tessen is
Tessen is a software platform that lets you describe trading strategies in plain English, evaluates them against historical and live market data ("the Grade"), lets you paper-trade them, and — where you qualify and choose to — deploy them against your own exchange account using API keys you provide. Tessen also offers market-intelligence data, a copy marketplace (NEXA), and a developer API.
Tessen is a software tool, not a financial adviser, broker, fund manager, or custodian. We never hold, transmit, or take custody of your funds. Nothing on the platform is investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any asset.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Tessen — including trading leveraged crypto derivatives on your chosen exchange — is lawful where you live. The service is not directed at any jurisdiction where its use would be unlawful.
- You may not use Tessen if you are subject to sanctions or located in an embargoed jurisdiction.
3. Accounts and the closed beta
- During the closed beta, Studio access requires an invite code. One account per person.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
- Beta software changes: features may be added, altered, or removed without notice.
4. The Grade — what it is and is not
- The Grade is an automated, historical, statistical evaluation. It is not a prediction, a guarantee, or advice. Markets change; past performance never guarantees future results.
- "Verified" means the evaluation ran on Tessen's own engine and data. "Checked" means the underlying data was supplied by a user and cannot be independently verified by us.
- Most strategies receive failing grades. That is the system working as designed.
5. Live trading, your keys, your responsibility
- Live deployment uses exchange API keys you create and control. We reject keys with withdrawal permission and encrypt stored keys, but you remain the owner of your exchange account and everything that happens in it.
- Protective features (stops, halts, kill switch, drift alerts) are best-effort software controls, not guarantees. Exchanges can fail, reject orders, or behave unexpectedly.
- You accept full responsibility for all trades placed by agents you deploy and for any losses that result. See our Risk Disclosure.
6. Payments
- Grading and paper trading are free. Live deployment requires a prepaid Pro pass; the developer API has metered tiers; NEXA copying carries a performance fee on real profit set by the listing owner.
- Passes and API tiers are prepaid, one-time purchases with no auto-renewal. Cryptocurrency payments are final once confirmed on-chain. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- You are responsible for any taxes arising from your use of the platform or your trading.
7. Your content and our engine
- You own the strategy ideas and specifications you create. You grant us the licence needed to operate the service on them: compiling, backtesting, grading, storing, and — if you choose to publish a grade, badge, or NEXA listing — displaying the results you chose to publish.
- Public grade pages and badges are permanent verifiable records; do not submit a strategy for public grading if you do not want its results to be public.
- NEXA listings are black-box by design: copiers receive signals, not your strategy logic.
- The Tessen engine, Grade methodology, site, and brand are our intellectual property.
8. Acceptable use
Use of the platform is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of data, or uninterrupted availability. Market data may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong; graded results depend on data and assumptions that are disclosed but necessarily imperfect.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: we are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid to Tessen in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the service, or your trading activity.
12. Termination
You may stop using Tessen at any time; stopping live deployments and disconnecting API keys is available in-app at all times. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with the kill-switch flattening of any live positions where feasible.
13. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced on the site or in-app; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
