Tessen didn't start as a startup idea. It started as a trading operation that lost real money to a familiar lie: a beautiful backtest that fell apart in live markets. High win rates that concealed negative expectancy. Leverage that turned a zero edge into steady losses.
So we built what we wished existed: a validation engine that couldn't be sweet-talked. Out-of-sample testing, every fee counted, robustness checks across assets, overfitting detection, drawdown measured at honest position sizing. Then we did the uncomfortable part — we ran our own live strategy through it, and published the result: a D.
That D is the founding document of this company. Retail algo-trading is a lemon market — everyone sells bots, nobody sells truth — and a grading system that never delivers bad news is worthless. Tessen exists to be the trust layer that market lacks, and eventually, the intelligence layer behind every financial decision.
Four of our five future revenue streams die if our grades are inflated. We are structurally incapable of profiting from flattery — that alignment is the business model.
We never hold user funds. Exchange keys with withdrawal permission are rejected in code, not in a policy document.
Every verdict shows its evidence: sample sizes, gates, assumptions. Facts, assumptions, and predictions are never mixed.
Every product and division activates only when its gate is passed — proof, revenue, or licensing. We apply the same discipline to ourselves that our Grade applies to strategies.
